§ 1-4. Provisions deemed continuation of existing ordinances.

(a)

The provisions of this Code, insofar as they are the same as ordinances previously adopted by the city existing at the time of the adoption of this Code, shall be considered as a continuation thereof and not as new enactments.

(b)

The adoption of this Code does not authorize any use or the continuation of any use of a structure or premises in violation of any ordinance of the city in effect on the date of adoption of this Code.
