§ 2-1. Liability of city officials and employees.

The city hereby indemnifies and agrees to hold harmless officials, board members and employees, and their successors, from and against all actions, causes of action, claims, demands, damages, losses and expenses of any kind, including court costs and attorneys fees, which may be asserted against, or suffered by, such officials, board members and employees arising out of, or in connection with, the performance of, or failure to perform, their official duties for the city when acting within the general scope of their authority as such officials, board members and employees, and within the general scope of authority of the city, to the greatest extent allowed by law.
